{Christmas Party}

Continuing on with posts from the past...

Earlier in December we went to a Christmas party for Denin's work.  The highlight for me is watching the kids sit on Santa's lap.  I must confess, we coax the kids into asking for specific things - we wouldn't want any last minute surprises would we?!  The rules are simple, once you decide what you are going to ask Santa for, you cannot change your mind, and if you do, Santa may not have time to make it in his workshop before Christmas and you could end up with no toys.  Usually works.  Every once in awhile they try to add items onto their wish list, a few comments about being ungrateful, or asking for too much, so they might get nothing usually cures the case of "I wants."  Ruthless, yes, but absolutely necessary!

For the Christmas season, Jyllian had to have a special tutu - she was my Santa baby!  She hated it, and didn't wear it for long, but everyone thought she looked cute!

Before dinner, the kids were looking for Santa, knowing he would be stopping by.  They thought they saw his sleigh...

The kids must have seen something other than Santa's sleigh, Santa said he parked his sleigh at the Zoo, and drove a minivan to the party (hey - he's got to cover his bases, in case he gets caught getting into a "regular" car).

First to sit on Santa's lap was Kamden.  Santa mentioned to Kamden that he should come up and help him at his workshop, Kamden thought that was sooooo cool,  he talked about it for weeks!  He would always say "Remember when Santa said I should come to his workshop and help him?"

{I made the Reindeer shirt!}

After Kamden was Jyllian.  She wasn't too fond of the man in the red suit, she was okay with him once he gave her a present.  There was no sitting on his lap this year!

 Last up was Kole - they appear to be very deep in conversation.  There is a lot to cover with a 7 year old - school, girls, teachers, and whether your parents or little brother are on the naughty list.  Also, telling Santa what you want is serious business, after all, you only get one chance!

{One day the boys' will revolt and not allow me to make them wear matching shirts - this year I won the battle...}

I think we managed to keep Kole's belief in Santa alive for 1 more year!
